Hi – I’m an artist and online publishing professional living in Hamilton, Ontario. I’ve had an interesting last 20 years in the art and media scenes of Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.  This blog is now where all the threads of my professional practice are on display in one place.

This space used to be the marketing blog for my online magazine project, Art Listings Professional. This blog became an audience development exercise, in a way, for myself as an artist. I became more comfortable as an individual not hidden behind a brand, a mask, a character.

I look forward to continuing the notes, musings, interviews and reviews and am excited by sharing my new work and new directions. After these years of research of other artists and contemporary art history in the form of artlistpro.com and artprwire.com, I am glad to have found a kindred community both online and everywhere I walk.

Christopher Healey graduated in 1996 with a BFA, with distinction and in the Extra Credit Program, in Studio (drawing) from Concordia University in Montreal.

He founded and operated .terminal gallery within a collective of curators and artists at Arts Court, Ottawa, that ran between 1998-2001. He later became director of the Ottawa School of Art Gallery between 2003-06 and founded the Lee Matasi Memorial OSA Student Gallery. In 2007 Healey independently opened the Gallery 155b project space and coordinated open studio events and exhibitions in the complex until 2008. In 2010 he joined CulturShoc, a contemporary art gallery on Queen Street West in Toronto, as curator, until 2011. Healey recently served as Interim Administrative Director for Hamilton Artists Inc. and is presently in a studio production cycle.

He works in online production and publishing for the arts and culture sector, and has worked as a multi-media designer, web developer and media studies instructor in the OSA Diploma Program. He recently worked at Canadian Art Magazine full-time as Online Program Manager and before that was the Web Director for Guerilla Magazine.

Healey is also the publisher of Art Listings Professional and Art PR Wire, founding both in 2009.
