Art Criticism and Social Media – is the contemporary art meta-critic viable?

Shaky video at the Alliance of Toronto Art Critics panel discussion on Dec.3rd. Chris Healey of “Artlistpro.com” (me!) nervously puts social media + art criticism forward and wonders how the individual art critic fits in. Answer – there is no way to measure the quality of meta-criticism via aggregation. I can respect that point of view, but pretty clearly see the day coming where the media will be “reblogging” popular posts and personalities for culture news and not really having writers / critics on staff anymore. In other words, print evolves from online content and not the other way around. And I got to say “twitter” which was not really something the Alliance warmed to upon first blush, but led to some great discussions and contacts with fellow audience members afterwards.
