Fighting procrastination with group effort – with a painting jamboree!!

Artists have a reputation for procrastinating in the face of creation, and I’m no exception to that. There are some reasons for this that perhaps only other artists appreciate – such as being able to visualize the piece before it is done, so what’s the point? Or knowing you are not going to have time to work for long so it makes sense just not to start (or finish) at all.

So I asked my friends to help me on the recent long weekend by having a studio painting party, as the energy in a group situation is dynamic and contagious. And it worked! Industriousness mushroomed and we had a lot of fun.

Doesn’t matter what you paint in these situations, just that you get the ball rolling. Thanks Trevor, Lauren and Craig.
